(5,177 posts)that Russian supply lines depend on transporting by rail only to 100 km from artillery units, then requiring truck crews to hand unload onto trucks, then hand unload at artillery units. Ukraine is targeting both the rail facilities and the trucks, creating havoc with resupply. Sometimes the trucks deliver to the wrong units, meaning other units don't get resupplied.
A few more dozen HIMARS could just about eliminate Russian logistics in the region.

(5,104 posts)Adding that the Ukrainians have excellent intelligence on what to target, both through their own local resourcefulness and by the sharing of real-time intelligence from the "eyes-in-the-sky" of friendly allied governments.
When UKR knows what to hit, where it is located, and precision guided weapons with greater range than the Russians have, they can degrade the threat.
