I flipped channels in the aftermath of the January 6 committee hearing. Several had commentary about the Department of Justice and questions about how far "up the chain" the DoJ might go. With 7 televised hearings thus far, it should be clear even to the talkers that it is a tangled web of conspiracy. It's not a simple chain of command as in the military.
I want to see them follow each strand of the web. They can start with Jones, Stone, Flynn, Trump, and the named members of Congress and see where each thread leads.

(73,559 posts)Imperfect as he was Vince Bugliosi noted that crimes committed by a group are best seen as ropes, rather than chains. A good defense lawyer can often find a weak link that, if not breaks the chain, can be cause for reasonable doubt. The rope is stronger with each strand added, so much so that one weak strand does not threaten the rope's ability to tie everything together.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Putin as the spider in the middle of the web. Tying him to it should not be a goal, however. It is enough that we break up the threads that continue the threat to our nation.
