Justice Department Announces Reproductive Rights Task Force

The Task Force will monitor and evaluate all state and local legislation and enforcement actions that threaten to:

Infringe on federal legal protections relating to the provision or pursuit of reproductive care;
Impair women’s ability to seek reproductive care in states where it is legal;
Impair individuals’ ability to inform and counsel each other about the reproductive care that is available in other states;
Ban Mifepristone based on disagreement with the FDA’s expert judgment about its safety and efficacy; or
Impose criminal or civil liability on federal employees who provide reproductive health services in a manner authorized by federal law.

It's based on a 1989 law that guarantees emergency care regardless of ability to pay or other obstacles. Biden cited that law in his Executive Order.

Regarding pro-choice activism everyone can do:

My friends and I are carrying around pens and sticky notes and/or big mailing labels (things with adhesives that don't cause property damage when removed) and writing "Defend Choice - Defeat Republicans on 11/8" types of messages on them, either handwritten or with a printer. In red states, people are including abortion access website links. We're placing them in public restrooms, hwy. rest stops, transit stations, shopping malls--any high visibility place. We'd love it if some DUers would do the same and spread the idea far and wide on social media. Thank you!

(P.S.: One friend is writing "In November Vote Blue or the GOP Will Take Your Right to Birth Control Too" on her messages.)

I'm going to write "Roe Roe Roe Your Vote' on some of the public messages. I've already got that as my sig line and I ordered a t-shirt with that slogan. I plan on wearing it to the airport for an upcoming trip -- high visibility.
