(11,870 posts)Lets not forget that some of the talking heads doing the recap are Republicans who are desperate to rehab the reputation of this morally bankrupt ratfucking party.
They are trying to rehab the reputations of these
Spineless privileged assholes.

(22,037 posts)Telling the truth isn't really a virtue. It's the least to be expected.
You cannot praise someone for NOT robbing a bank, (as a famous golfer once said).
All of these Trump enablers are trying to cover their own sins by throwing Trump under the bus. It's pathetic but better late than never.

She stepped forward when her lawyer suggested that SHE could take the fall along with Meadows. She realized that Trump's lawyer did not have HER best interest at heart.
After the purge of the party, she will find a home in some think tank where she will continue to enable the right wing of the party...spouting screeds of states rights, low regressive taxes, and de-regulation.
She's young and got "a little over her skis" in her budding career.

It's true for every last witness. They're the "fuck around and find out government." Not patriots.
They did their part to bring this upon the country, and they're only sorry once they actually saw the damage they'd contributed to.

(3,417 posts)Had TFG succeeded in being inaugurated on January 20, their private fantasy looked like the final scene in the first STAR WARS movie where all of the conspirators would stand before the crowd, proudly showing off their new medals!

(17,931 posts)Virtue is doing the right thing when no one's watching, simply because it's the right thing to do. Not suddenly discovering virtue only when faced with the consequences of NOT acting virtuous. Funny, but mom and dad were laying the logical groundwork for my de-conversion. Although dad was only nominally Christian much to mom's annoyance.

(894 posts)Every single one of RTump's enablers... Every single (Republican) Senator, Representative, Cabinet member,
Agency appointee, Governor, Secretary of State, Judge, etc, etc...
Ban each and every complicit individual from government service for the rest of their natural, or unnatural, lives...
And every individual from RTump's shadowy past (family members, lawyers, attorneys, accountants, business partners),
etc, etc... Let no stone be unturned... Let the RTumpster's treacherous, noxious bilge be drained...
America deserves better.
That is all...

(8,791 posts)Pence is a pathetic individual.
IMHO none of the GOP Congress members, federal appointees, or federal employees that supported Trump before or after the failed coup have any business continuing in their positions at the very least.

(8,254 posts)during the impeachments. Maybe we would have gotten the votes to convict (*high hopes*)and bar Trump from every running for office again when Democrats were presenting their case in the Senate... but no, because these fucking assholes we got to worry about this guy again and possibly destroying democracy.

(32,645 posts)... just like Bill Barr was fired. Well guess what? Cippollone wasn't fired, he stayed at the White House and quit on January 6th. It doesn't matter what he says now, he DIDN'T stand up to Chump when it really mattered.
Being fired by Chump should have been his badge of honor. But he sat there and went along with all of it.
