Secret Service Informed Records Burned regarding JFK Days After Congress requested them

Last edited Fri Jul 15, 2022, 11:40 AM - Edit history (1)

Coral Leoning was on MSNBC claiming the SS has a habit of getting rid of info after important events ... one of those times they burned records was after JFKs death.

Not saying something is wrong but no doubt saying something aint right.

When a congressional committee was investigating assassinations and assassination attempts, it sought boxes of records that reportedly showed the Secret Service received ample advance warnings and threats before President John F. Kennedy’s death that white supremacists and other organizations were plotting to kill Kennedy using high-powered rifles from tall buildings. The Secret Service told investigators the records had been destroyed as part of a normal culling of old archives — days after investigators had requested them.

Some say they were told to 'stand down' on the day of the assassination. milestogo Jul 2022 #1

I'm guessing this was the 1976 House Select Committee on Assassinations? Ohio Joe Jul 2022 #3
Well yeah, assassinations of US presidents happen twice a year so why keep the records of SS ... uponit7771 Jul 2022 #5

Because the assassination of a president is such a common event that there couldn’t possibly be any reason to save records related to this event.

Sounds suspicious to me.

I am unaware of any other. Assuming that is true, that is what... 13 years after JFK? Yeah... That would be easily long after normal record keeping would have expired.

I'd also kind of quibble with the language... If you are going to say something is a habit... It kind of should be something that happens all the time... Not twice in 50 years.

I'm also not accusing other DU'ers of nefarious deeds.

Then there are two examples provided that cover a 50 year span. Now you want to change it to assassinations? Or are you going to say there has only been the JFK assassination and 1/6 as important events in the last 50 years?

That Lyndon Johnson would not let the service walk, or ride, behind him. The same source related the supposed activities of the service from the night before Kennedy’s death as being highly questionable for a group that was assigned to protect the president the next morning.
