Joe Biden to have new Secret Service team amid concern about Trump loyalty
In a changing of the guard as well as the man to be guarded at the White House, Bidens security detail will undergo some staffing changes, the Washington Post reported on Thursday.
Several senior Secret Service agents are poised to return to the president-elects protection team and Biden knows these agents well because they guarded him and his family during his time as vice-president, according to the article, echoed in a report by CNN, citing a law enforcement source....
...In what was described as an unprecedented move, the Secret Service had permitted former detail leader Anthony Ornato to temporarily leave his role and serve as White House deputy chief of staff.

(22,144 posts)sensitive dates that tRUMP was going nuts. I thought that the SS was supposed to be professional and uniform, for all under the SS's protections. In these days w/ the Federal Records Act and other retention periods in place for federal employees and other associated members working w/ the Feds, that these retention periods on retaining records is set in stone.
The claim that a changeover in devices caused these losses or disappearance of these Secret Service records is very weak and is almost ridiculous. This doesn't ring true to me at all, as one who's been in IT since the mid-70s, retention periods were deemed very very important, and were device-independent, that is, files/texts/etc. were still generated regardless of the device involved (as in many IT apps), and thus, the whole mess of files/texts/etc. generated (and devices involved) didn't matter one bit. You still retained records.
One usually had to retain stuff for legal reasons (getting sued, etc.) or restoring a system back to a certain point, if need be.
Someone fell flat on their face. Someone was trying to hide something (Ornato IMHO, and others). What could it be? More of tRUMP's ranting and raving to go to the Capitol and take over? More evidence of tRUMP's incompetence? They (in Congress) need to investigate this serious breach of security all around (and not just the records supposedly not available, but those around the PINO idiot, who was wanting to take over the government).
This is a disgusting and serious breach of security and records retention.

(16,928 posts)It is insulting and beyond belief that a government agency that is SO responsible for security, confidentiality, and protocol would have such an 'accident.'
BULLSHIT!!!!!
"We have a problem, Houston"....... er, AMERICA! We are being lied to by people that are supposed to be keeping our leaders safe - AND US safe by following laws and procedures.
THIS cannot be swept away or overlooked. WE NEED ANSWERS!
GO GET 'EM, Jan. 6 COMMITTEE!!!!! (I'd include the DOJ but I don't think they're back from their nap yet... )
