We had a great time traveling from Barcelona to Madrid several years back in first class.

7. I was on a train going from Barcelona to Paris during the record-breaking heatwave in 2018...

the A/C wasn't working due to the heat, then finally the train itself broke down and halted out in the middle of nowhere. They were trying to keep everyone hydrated but a couple of people required medical help. I remember a mechanic desperately trying to get the doors open. Finally they opened and we were able to walk out into a field. A couple of hours later another train showed up and took us on to the destination.

I suppose if enough people are affected by these ongoing heat events, fires, floods, etc, then maybe there will enough of a political will to do something about it!

Parts of Spain are very dry and desert-like. Especially during summer, so I think this is pretty normal.

It helps to study up and ask a few questions, before selecting your next vacation.
