1. Yes, "people just don't care anymore"

My adult sons, who are both vacc’d and boosted, have also stopped worrying about it- out eat, in bars etc.

We have a family wedding coming up 10/28 & I’m concerned about what things will be like by then.

4. I am 99.9% sure I'm not going to my nephew's November wedding

Not only would it involve being in a crowd, that crowd would be gathered in the panhandle of Florida AND I'd have to fly to get there.

He's in town for a 'couple's shower' which I am also skipping so I'm going to let him know NOT to expect me at the wedding.

Everyone around me has pretty much returned to life as usual. At least my brother continues to wear masks when he's out and about. He had Covid back in early March of 2020, well before the vaccines or even before we really knew what was going on and it was awful. (He's a school bus driver) so he knows how important it is to be safe.

15. There is a difference between "not worried" and "don't care"

I go out to dinner, to the theater, museums, stores, travel on planes, trains and buses, etc.

I'm fully vaccinated and mitigate my risks where appropriate, recognizing that the likely risk is a short-term, annoying infection (I've had it once).

Unless you're going to live entirely in your basement, you have to try to live a normal life.

2. I think about the unvaccinated who might be asymptomatic and are spreading it

They keep bragging about their strong immune systems but they just might be 21st century plague rats.

seen her since. So that's 8 days.

It's been a while since they got boosters. I don't think you can depend on boosters for this new stuff.

10. You can't - my friend/handyman got Covid 2 days after his booster

Two months ago and now has Covid again after masking everywhere he goes. He’s temporarily in a small town in Colorado and said he’s basically the only person in the town who wears a mask.

Also, two of my girlfriends are fire watchers and it was required they be vaxxed - also required for fire fighters. One has been barely able to get out of bed from Covid this week - still sick. Said she caught it from the firefighters who almost all had it.

Here we go again just when many of us were feeling the situation was improving.

5. You don't have the luxury of assuming that Covid isn't everywhere and you won't catch it.

and is still testing positive today
Her husband has it too, and their dr didn’t rec (or even mention) paxlovid, so too late for that
Older brother had it after a trip to Chicago and paxlovid cleared him right up

It’s everywhere again 😑

9. I wonder if anybody has tried taking Greek oil of Wild

Oregano. It's a really powerful antiviral. AND antibiotic.

I started taking it for UTI's that antibiotics don't work for anymore. Cleared it right up.

11. Another good antiviral is olive leaf extract

I bought it for it’s antiviral properties and then started reading more about it and how successful it’s been in many studies in lowering blood pressure.

As far as UTI’s - if I feel one coming on, I take a spoonful of d’mannose (a natural bacteria eating sugar) and it never materializes.

14. Well, here's a good news story

My eldest son (who is living with us in a very tiny house) tested positive for Covid. He was scheduled to leave for a 5-month hike on the CDT, something he'd been planning for months.

My husband and I were absolutely exposed even though said son quarantined in his bedroom, masked up with a medical-grade mask. We were all using the same bathroom and kitchen facilities.

Covid knocked my son on his ass for 4+ days. He's incredibly strong and fit but basically slept 24/7 experiencing fever/chills, horrid headache, sinus pressure, sore throat and killer body aches, the classic symptoms without any respiratory complications. On Day 5, he felt better except for the body aches. Day 7 he was running around packing up for his trip.

He is now on Week 2+ of his Continental Divide trek. My husband and I? Negative testing, no symptoms, no signs whatsoever.

My son had the first two vaccinations but didn't bother with the boosters. He'd been exposed before, so thought he was safe. My husband and I took all four shots, the last of which was in May. I had to drag my husband to the last one. Finally convinced him it was for our 2-year old grand daughter's benefit bc we were attending her birthday party in late May.

He relented and we received some good Karma for the effort.

So, one could say we were lucky or prudent or vaccinated to the gills. Or all three.

Yes, Covid variants are out there. People are still contracting the virus. But there are far fewer hospitalizations and/or Covid-related deaths. Which was what the vaccines were all about--avoiding the hospital or the grave.

They go out to restaurants a lot.

She feels a lot worse today than yesterday. Bad sore throat and plugged up head and cough. Lots of drainage

Poor thing.
