Complete headline: CNN asked all 50 GOP senators if they will support the same-sex marriage bill. Here's where they stand.

(CNN)Ten GOP senators are needed to join all 50 Democrats in order to overcome a legislative filibuster in support of the House-passed bill to codify same-sex marriage into federal law. CNN asked all 50 Republicans where they stand on the legislation.

It's not yet clear how many Republicans will support the bill, but GOP and Democratic senators said Wednesday they expect it could eventually win the 60 votes needed.
Here's what we found:

Four Republican senators, so far, have either said they will support or will likely support the House-passed same-sex marriage bill, and that includes: Rob Portman of Ohio, Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska (likely) and Thom Tillis of North Carolina (likely).

Eight Republican senators, so far, have indicated they would vote "no," and oppose the same-sex marriage bill.

Sixteen Republican senators, so far, are undecided or did not indicate support for the House-passed bill.

Twenty-two Republican senators have yet to respond to CNN's inquiries.

The sad thing is, even though it might look like there's a light at the end of the tunnel, I foresee a cave-in extingwishing the light.

4. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina told CNN he is a no on this bill. He said, “I’ll support the Defense of Marriage Act” – which is what the House-passed bill would repeal.

Including interracial, gender, etc... Because All marriage is the same. All should be recognized under law. Period. This bullshit eking out one or another shouldn't be allowed or even in a bill. ALL marriage codified, or none are. That includes the white supremist preference marriages that are being pushed with legislation

That message will lose us votes! Not yet! You and you rainbow pony! Be practical! We need to win, we won't win with gay Marriage! Not this election! Incremental steps, if you die before it happens, oh well. Shut up, you're too young, you don't vote anyway!

We've seen it all right here! Have alerted to no avail. It's sickening. We're going through the same fuckin shit again. It got so bad, the administration stepped in last time. This time, it's more than Marriage, it's every topic affecting people under what, 70ish here? Shut up, sit down, you don't vote, we don't need your vote, your time will come, not now... My sons are under 40. They vote. One is a happy liberal like me, the other is a converted Mormon, who met his wife in the church he went to. Believe me, I know the pulse of both sides of the political spectrum. My kids are engaged. Both are anti Trump, but he's very conservative. However, he's Mormon, he and his wife have decided not to have children, so her family is very angry. They are standing their ground. They're awesome aunt and uncle. ❤

I linked DU to my sons years, didn't go well. We need to appeal to younger voters if this site is to survive. That's just the honest damn truth.

an MSNBC reporter was actually positive about the response he got from Republican senators on this. He said that McConnell actually was willing to talk to him, and usually he gets ignored when its about something McConnell doesn't want to deal with.
