BREAKING -- IG knew @SecretService texts from Jan 6 had been wiped in February ... but didn't tell Cong

BREAKING — IG knew @SecretService texts from Jan 6 had been wiped in February … but didn’t tell Congress . That’s despite the fact that multiple committees were actively investigating Jan 6 and seeking those records w @mariasacchetti

A watchdog agency learned in February that the Secret Service had purged nearly all cellphone texts from around the time of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, but chose not to alert Congress, according to three people briefed on the internal discussions.

That watchdog agency, the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General, also prepared in October 2021 to issue a public alert that the Secret Service and other department divisions were stonewalling it on requests for records and texts surrounding the attack on the Capitol, but did not do so, the people briefed on the matter said. They spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive internal investigations.

The previously unreported revelation about the inspector general’s months-long delay in flagging the now-vanished Secret Service texts came from two whistleblowers who have worked with Inspector General Joseph V. Cuffari, the people knowledgeable about the internal discussions said.

In recent days, one former employee approached the Project on Government Oversight (POGO), an independent government-accountability group, and described the decision from Cuffari’s office not to promptly disclose that Secret Service records had been wiped from agency phones starting in January 2021. The group relayed the information to congressional staff, who independently corroborated the account with a second whistleblower.

I'm all too familiar with this, and I know the exact quote by heart. It was B.S. then and still is, and after all these years, it STILL makes me want to punch him right in his smarmy, rosy-cheeked face.

One of the worst things about Ray Gun, imo, was the fake charm he always oozed. It gave me the creeps, because I could see right through the fakeness. He was like a shiny, red apple that looked juicy and delicious but was actually rotten inside. This clip is a perfect example of why I hated him then and still do.

Cuffari’s former deputy and others were leery of his nomination as inspector general. Among other issues, they raised concerns that a then-unaccredited university with a reputation as a “diploma mill” had awarded him a doctorate in 2002. Despite the criticism, Cuffari regularly references his PhD when signing letters to Congress and on OIG reports.

https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2020/05/the-dhs-inspector-general-claimed-to-have-a-philosophy-phd-he-doesnt/

Cuffari’s PhD from California Coast University is in management, and it was conferred by a school that was unaccredited at the time. In 2004, two years after Cuffari received the degree, the Government Accountability Office prominently featured California Coast University in a report on unaccredited “diploma mills” that required no classroom instruction and issued degrees for low flat fees.

IG Joseph Cuffari was put in place by Trump & the Federalist Society.

Prior to that he worked for Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey & Gov. Jan Brewer.

Nobody from the Trump Administration can be nor should be trusted and needs to be purged to protect our democracy.

Jul 2022

This is not some nebulous "system" that suddenly deleted the texts without anyone's knowledge. SS Agents and everyone else at the Secret Service were given repeated notifications about the upcoming phone upgrade, and specifically told to preserve all data from Jan.6, and were given instructions on how to preserve that data. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/secret-service-was-told-least-jan-6-2021-preserve-texts-rcna39129

Anyone at the Secret Service who failed to preserve the data on their phones is either atrociously incompetent and derelict in their duties, or complicit in a sedition coverup. Either way, they should be fired.

34. Treasonous Coup by US Intelligence agents
Thu Jul 21, 2022, 02:06 AM
Jul 2022

This is my first post as a new member, although I've been reading DU for years.
I've reflected upon what would cause me to join and share my thoughts.
And, now, gathered with allies I arrive.

I am a mellow, low-keyed type. So when I say that this is the exact moment in the course of the democracy that screaming from the rooftops and banging pots and pans are not only recommended but required! The USA is indeed under attack right now. There are traitors entrenched across all facets of the country's military, intelligence, political, judicial, law enforcement and civilian sectors. They are in positions of authority and leadership. This treasonous syndicate aims to undermine the electoral process and the provisions enshrined in the Bill of Rights and Constitution...for starters.

I'll end now as I do not want to loose your attention. Thanks for reading.

Thank you DU Community!
