'I'm Calling About Your Auto Warranty'

Okay, Biden just won re-election:

Link to Bloomberg story here.

The Federal Communications Commission has ordered phone companies to stop carrying traffic related to robocalls about scam auto warranties.

US voice service providers must now “take all necessary steps to avoid carrying this robocall traffic,” or provide a report outlining how they’re mitigating the traffic, the FCC’s Robocall Response Team said in a statement on Thursday. The calls are coming from Roy Cox, Jr., Aaron Michael Jones and related companies and associates.

Now extend it to non-existent student loans, "your name was chosen at random" for motels you've never stayed at, and all the rest of this wasteful junk, and Biden wins by acclamation in 2024.

Yeah, those auto warranty claims died down last year. This is an after-the-fact response. TheBlackAdder Jul 2022 #5

It’s 14 months old, and turned over 2000 miles last Saturday at the end of a 220 mile trip.

Why would I spend more than $100 a month for an extended “warranty?”🙄

Just scam auto warranties?

There's PC anti-virus scams that fleece elderly out of tens of thousands in savings by remote access.

I get called from off-shore (mostly India) from numbers spoofing my local police department, colleges, fire department, township, CPS, State offices, all seeming legit and make you answer them. It's not just the dozens a day spoofing local residential phone numbers. I get them spoofing Bank of America, Chase, Capital One and even my local bank that I use.

I just had a "This is a courtesy call for AT&T and Direct TV customers" as I was typing this response.

It should have been written, 'Scam Calls' period, not something so specific as one of the scores of scam methods.

The biggest threat are those scam calls where they pretend to be from MediCare or the SSA, or even the IRS. Scumbags hoping to fleece seniors out of their last penny, and those who might not be plugged into these new scamming methods. I get at least a dozen MediCare calls a day, all from different numbers.

Scam calls are cyclic, they go after a group of attack angles and then change them up after a while when they start becoming less rewarding, then they will revisit them again 5 years in the future when we've all forgotten about it or a new group of marks enters their call systems. That is why a generic bill is required to address all forms of telephone scams.
