I believe it was leaked by some of the justices themselves to soften the blow to what was going to happen & to gauge reaction.

The probe is a mirage.

This leak could have been by a justice who wanted to either firm up the vote of the assholes who voted to strike down Roe or to encourage one of these justices to accept Roberts' compromise ruling

Probably a committee at the Heritage Foundation wrote it for them. Then Heritage leaked it because it was taking too long to get the ball rolling on it.

I think he tried to keep it level, but when the Orange Idiot and Moscow Mitch did their number on it, they really damaged its history permanently. I hope at some point someone can fix it. Starting with Citizens United.
