I really don't understand the notion behind intent

in regards to Trump and January 6th. To me the notion that he thought he won the election and thus he didn't have the intent is absurd. Here is an analogy. Say I am convinced Brad Pitt is in love with me. Never mind that my family, my friends, Brad Pitt, Brad Pitt's entourage, and literally everyone says I am delusional and he isn't. So I go out and kidnap Brad Pitt and have my way with him. Now maybe I get sent to a mental facility instead of jail. But literally no one would say I didn't commit a crime. No one would say I can't be indicted. So how is my analogy different than what some are saying about Trump?

Plus we have Bannon’s recording about how he’s gonna say he won even if he lost

Mens rea. This is not true for every infraction or crime. Those that fall into the strict liability category don't require it, statutory rape for example.

Did he know the mob was armed?

Yes, and the proof is he wanted them to disable the metal detectors to let the mob into the ellipse. He can't argue he wasn't informed it was an armed mob, or didn't understand it was armed as soon as he said that.

Then he launched that armed mob at the capital to interrupt and official government function to certify Biden the winner, with the sole motive of staying in power.

I think that's all they need to actually lock him up.
