They thought, "Just give it time and it will all go away".

They gambled that people would become tired and forget about an attempted coup and an attack upon our Capitol.

That was what Trump must have told McCarthy when he paid his visit to Mar-a-Lago?

"People will forget all about it, just like with every other issue, Kevin."

Trust me with this one.

But people have not forgotten. They will not be tricked into forgetting.

As much as Republicans would like to believe that people will forget their dastardly deeds, it is not going to happen. They will pay a price. They know it's coming.

They can pretend it never happened. They can pretend nobody cares. They can pretend it is all a "Democrat scam". But, the truth does not go away. It lingers behind everything the Republicans say and do.

Their time is coming.

And they know it.
