(10,078 posts)The ability for critical thinking atrophied to nonexistence in the average Republican voter years ago. All they pay attention to is nonstop propaganda that reinforces the biases passed from generation to generation.

(13,556 posts)irritate me, but the big pharma ads about how price limits on drugs really bug me. If they would not spend so much on advertising on their drugs they would save a hell of a lot of money that could go to studying new drugs. When they changed that law back (no advertising prescription drugs) in the eighties it opened the floodgates.

(3,361 posts)and realized right there and then that dinosaur industries will do any/everything possible to convince the simple-minded that renewable energy is beyond the capacity of human.
Since then, though their messages have become more subtle, they are still without merit.

Also, R&D claims by pharma include marketing. The D in R&D. All those expensive TV ads and the catered lunches in your doctor's offices. This can be up to 90% of the R&D.
