Theres a lot of talk about Gaetz wannabe mobster talk, but the pardon promise from the boss isnt the most important part of this story.
Gaetz broke a DOJ confidentiality agreement and told Stone what was in the Mueller report. Thats prosecutable.
Gaetz also spoke with Stone about redacted parts of the Mueller report that DOJ showed House Judiciary members in a secure room under a confidentiality agreement: There was a lot on you in the full redact that came out in the skinny redact.
New: Rep. Matt Gaetz was caught on a hot mic assuring Roger Stone that Trump would likely pardon him shortly before Stones criminal trial in 2019. The boss still has a very favorable view of you he said it directly. https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/2022/07/30/roger-stone-matt-gaetz-pardon-mueller/?pwapi_token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJzdWJpZCI6IjE5OTYyNjA0IiwicmVhc29uIjoiZ2lmdCIsIm5iZiI6MTY1OTE5MjMxMiwiaXNzIjoic3Vic2NyaXB0aW9ucyIsImV4cCI6MTY2MDQwMTkxMiwiaWF0IjoxNjU5MTkyMzEyLCJqdGkiOiI3OGQxN2Y1Zi1jY2NjLTQ5NmQtYjQ2NC05MmJmYTkyNzE2NzAiLCJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL3d3dy53YXNoaW5ndG9ucG9zdC5jb20vaW52ZXN0aWdhdGlvbnMvMjAyMi8wNy8zMC9yb2dlci1zdG9uZS1tYXR0LWdhZXR6LXBhcmRvbi1tdWVsbGVyLyJ9.Caf4gXA80AtOfg5N7oHueMX-t3ctozI-LhltfQWJ_n0

.....After he arrived offstage adhering to his speech in the Donald J. Trump Grand Ballroom, Stone was joined backstage by Gaetz, a Trump favorite who was talking later in the afternoon. With function personnel coming and heading nearby, their conversation turned immediately to Stones demo and Muellers investigation. The Justice Office experienced publicly introduced a edition of Muellers ultimate report in which some sections had been redacted to guard classified information, grand jury secrecy and energetic investigations or prosecutions.Stone had questioned Jackson to purchase prosecutors to exhibit him a entire, unredacted variation of Muellers report. On Aug. 1, 2019, Jackson granted Stone entry to some redacted sections relating to him in Vol. 1 of the report, which centered on Russias interference in the 2016 election. Jackson mentioned in her ruling that most of the redacted materials in Vol. 2 which included Trumps alleged obstruction of justice similar to Stone, but she declined to let him see it.The content was protected by a protecting get that barred Stone from sharing it with everyone other than his lawyers and from utilizing it for any purpose other than his legal defense, Jackson wrote.Backstage at AMPFest, Stone discussed the Mueller material with Gaetz in wide strokes, proclaiming that thanks to Jacksons ruling, hed seen the overall unredacted report, which he mentioned held no damaging specifics on him. It is not apparent what Stone meant by that remark......

(10,088 posts)What is so secret about the crimes Trump and his buddies committed that we do not have a right to know of them? After all, Garland declined to prosecute any of them. Im surprised that some news outlet has not used the Freedom of Information Act to pry an unredacted version of this report out of the DOJ. Redacting stuff because its embarrassing (as I think some of the parts about Don Jr. were) is not an excuse. All of this was allowed to go away for political, reasons, but those same people are still around and planning even more crimes for 2024.

I want this slimy little bastard in jail. And not a resorts international jail, either. A real jail with proper hardened criminals, just waiting for a soft, prissy little shit like Matty. Criminals that will teach him what prison is all about.

(6,827 posts)1. It sounds like Gaetz and Stone have had some kind of symbiotic working relationship for some time.
2. Even if there was nothing in the Full Mueller according to Stone, he was interested, and maybe worried about something.
3. Gaetz can't keep confidential information secret.
4. Gaetz has more chargeable crimes now. (sharing top secret styuff with Stone)
Things to ask/assume:
Gaetz is probably a Russian asset.
What other top secret stuff has Gaetz shared with Stone or others?
Cant we put Gaetz in jail NOW, for something, and disrupt his collusion with Russia?

(8,847 posts)that Mueller ate up alot of time, alot of energy, and his investigation, thanks to him, was so far worthless.........
Mueller broadly "hinted" at several things, but after being a lifetime Republican himself, he could not release a complete and true report to the American People that would surely have brought down the ENTIRE Republican Party.....
And you wonder why people are so reluctant to believe anything, about ANY investigation going on, including Garland's.......
All WE see is the very tiny edge of massive coverups at every level of the Republican's Operations, and every level of the Republican Party.
I don't put much faith in that ANY of the Republicans will ever be punished for anything, and I believe we are witnessing the end of our government's Democracy. I dread the 2022 election, because I feel that regardless of who "wins" all hell is gonna break loose the next day.
If the Repubs win, they will feel even more emboldened with their new and certain power, and all hell will break loose.
If the Dems win, the Repubs 70 Million Trumphumpers will "act out" on the streets of this country all across the nation........
If the Repubs win the house and senate, by hook or by crook, in this 2022 election, it is Katie Bar The Door, forever more.
The 2024 election will be a joke, just like the so called "elections" that take place in Russia.........and with the many Despot controlled tyrannies in other countries across the globe......
It will be the final end to our beloved Democracy in the USA, and we will see instead: a Corporate Fascist Tyranny installed........
There will be the top 1% controlling everything, and the other 99% will be reduced to serfs and peasants..........

(32,777 posts)Matt Gaetz was sent to Stone (in jail) with a message from Chump.
The message was simple. Keep your mouth shut and you'll get your pardon.
Stone got the message and he got his pardon. Is everyone clear on that?
Now it's time for us Dems to start playing by the Repukes' rules.
Leak the unredacted Mueller Report immediately.
I'm sure Merrick Garland has it right in his office.

Jessica Lyons Hardcastle Fri 29 Jul 2022
The Feds have put up a $10 million reward for information about foreign interference in US elections in general, and more specifically a Russian oligarch and close friend of President Vladimir Putin accused of funding an organization that meddled in the 2016 presidential elections.
The bounty, offered through the US Department of State's Rewards for Justice program, specifically seeks intel on Russia's Internet Research Agency (IRA), businessman Yevgeniy Viktorovich Prigozhin, and any "linked Russian entities and associates for their engagement in US election interference."
...
These 12 (Russian Nationals), along with Prigozhin and the IRA, were all indicted [PDF] in 2018 following special counsel Robert Muller's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
The Feds are asking anyone with information on the IRA, Prigozhin or any other Russian individuals and organizations linked to US election interference to contact the Rewards for Justice office via a Tor-based tips-reporting channel. ®
Would TFG do it for $10 million? Who will?

(4,027 posts)Redactions to preserve data collection methods is utter bullshit, IMO, if that data is never known and never used for any purpose. Ive been hearing about protecting the means to collect data for decades, and I dont think our intell collecting procedures are so unguessable that they merit being kept secret EVEN WHEN DEMOCRACY IS AT STAKE!!
