Pa. Lt. Gov John Fetterman announces U.S. Senate run to replace Toomey

Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Pennsylvania Lt. Governor Democrat John Fetterman announced Monday that he would run for Senate, in what is predicted to be a highly contested race to replace Republican Sen. Pat Toomey, who said he will retire in 2022. In a video released Monday for supporters, the 6-foot-8 tall, tattooed Democrat said he wanted to represent the rural Pennsylvania voters that voted for former President Donald Trump in 2020.

"These places across Pennsylvania feel left behind. They don't feel part of the conversation," Fetterman said. "That's why Donald Trump went to these small counties and held these big rallies. We cannot afford to take any vote for granted. We cannot afford to take any place for granted."

In the uproar in Pennsylvania leading up to the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol siege, Fetterman was ousted from the Pennsylvania Senate chambers on Jan. 5, after Republican state lawmakers refused to seat a Democrat Senate winner, Jim Brewer, claiming his election was still being legally contested. Fetterman ran a failed bid for U.S. Senate in 2016, losing out in the Democratic primary to Katie McGinty, who then lost to Toomey.

And then literally went to every one of PA's 67 counties, some multiple times, for 15 months straight until he had his stroke. That's why he WON all 67 counties in the primary, with a more than 30% lead over the next highest vote-getter.

Meanwhile, DUers were rooting for Connor Lamb insisting that Fetterman was "unelectable" and couldn't win statewide (despite the fact that he had won a statewide election for Lt. Governor" ).

Don't step on the action of the "Fetterman's winning, but not the right way" crowd.

These are tender souls and they have issues to work through.

Hell - HE and Shapiro helped get us through dozens of lawsuits and clown show antics during and after the 2020 election, including when Ghouliani headlined an insurrectionist super-spreader event in Gettysburg organized and run by Doug Mastriano.

Claiming victory, Trump wants Pa. lawmakers to consider a special election; leaders say that’s...
Also, Republican legislative leaders showed no movement in changing the way presidential electors are chosen.

President Trump's lawyers have filed a new brief explaining why it should get a restraining order to block Pennsylvania from certifying the election results, and it starts off a lot like the others in that it misspells the name of the governor.

If PA doesn’t certify our Election results, after November 30th, we technically don’t have a State House of Representatives and 1/2 a state senate.

Which are controlled by Republicans. 😆

John Fetterman is 6'8" tall. He will be the tallest US Senator to date.

Love how he is using Social Media as well as he has. His TV ads will be awesome as well.

I am reminded of the classic Jimmy Dean song....Big (Bad) John.

the place where "Rocky" ran up the steps (Philadelphia Museum of Art) used to be the city's main (downtown) water reservoir (it sits right next to the river and a big "Fairmount Water Works" is adjacent).

The below is a paining where you can see that big hill to the right with what looks like steps going to the top. Behind the mount was a huge reservoir of water pumped right from the Schuykill.

They dismantled that and put the Art Museum there.

Ryan is up only two points over Vance in Ohio, but I keep getting emails saying that Vance is gaining. How anyone could support Vance is totally mystifying. Democrats really need this win.

I have great hopes for Val Demings too. Little Marco needs to be sent packing. The FiveThirtyEight list of polls mostly show Warnock ahead of Walker, but how Walker has over 40% is astonishing. I don’t trust Georgia Republicans not to try to steal this one.
