Awesome innovation for the deaf and hard of hearing - augmented reality glasses for conversation

Really great seeing ways new tech is helping people with challenges

A British startup called XRAI Glass is behind the technology that could allow millions of people who are deaf or hard of hearing to see in-person conversations they cannot hear.

The glasses use augmented reality (AR) technology, and a phone app provides the live transcription. Currently, the app is only supported on Android, but the company is seeking to get approval for iPhone usage as well.

Been seeing ads about these new Raybans that record video and play music from voice command.

I was at Chipotle when it started to become clear to me how much visual clues had to do with comprehension in a loud-ish environment.

Obvious now. But at the time, I was all, “Huh. That’s interesting.”

I'm interested. I'm totally deaf in my right ear, and have issues with my left ear.

It is disheartening to have to ask, "What'd he say?" A good deal of the time, I don't even bother. Sometimes I just sit there and smile.

Anyway, this sounds promising.
