Checking: Can you see Twitter posts on DU automatically?

DU automatically displays the content at Twitter when someone posts a link to a Twitter post. However, not everyone can see that Twitter content in DU posts that include a Twitter link. I'm curious about what percentage of DUers can or cannot see the actual content, rather than just a link to Twitter.

It nearly always shows up on my phone, but on my tablet I almost always have to click the link. Both are android. On my computer, there are occasional days where I have to click the link every time. I use firefox on all of them.

30. Me too - sometimes I can see it, sometimes it's just a link (I don't click them).

The really annoying ones are video tweets. They're ok when I can 1) see the tweet here in DU and 2) it plays here in DU.

But sometimes clicking the 'play' arrow (here in DU) opens in someone's Twitter page. No idea why this happens.

EDIT: I have a Twitter account but never post in there. I just follow a handful of interesting people.

but to read the Twitter thread itself I have to click “Log In”, and then exit without logging in.

5. If you create a twitter account, those posts will appear automatically.

You don't have to use twitter, but having the account will make posts appear.

… I can always see the content of the Twitter posts here on DU without clicking the link. I do not have a Twitter account.

I think it might have something to do with a user’s device settings, or perhaps with the settings on the Twitter user’s account? I don’t know.

8. The ability to see embedded tweets comes and goes

It gets tedious when all I see is a link. Content on DU is probably at least 1/3 Twitter, but I refuse to create an account. Extra rigmarole just to see a tweet is infuriating.

Maybe there is a browser plugin that could be added to avoid twitter signup?

9. I can see them about half the time.

I think it's my browser loading too slowly, so I get impatient and click on the link first.

11. I recognize that those Twitter links don't always work

in posts. Browser issues are often at fault there. I sometimes don't see them immediately. If I come back to the thread, though, there the content is. More often, on my cell phone, the actual tweet doesn't show right away. Connectivity issues, I guess.

No, I cannot see the actual information, unless I click on the related link (for same). And if it matters, my Windows 10 computer is up-to-date as is my latest version of Chrome. Also, I do NOT have any Social Media accounts (except for this one DU item).

I'm a Star subscriber and I previously left ads on here and on DailyKOS. I must have neglected to turn that off when I migrated to a replacement phone. They are now working. They always worked on my computer. Thanks for the heads up.

19. I deliberately blacklisted twitter because it annoys me.

If I see a post here that's got nothing but Link to tweet I automatically type alt left arrow and pass on by.

Alt left/right arrows. Back and forward.

I have been on computers pretty much since birth. For whatever reason, I never learned that.

This is life changing.

(I use a gaming mouse, and thumb buttons do forward/back, so I haven't been entirely manual. But not reaching for the mouse when typing things will shave some fractions).

22. I can on my laptop (Firefox) and Kindle (Chrome-based), not on my iPhone (neither Safari or FF)

On my phone Tweets appear as links only.

i also have a twitter account so maybe that is helpful

sometimes it takes several seconds for the link to load when i first click on a post with a twitter link but 95 percent of the time it loads right away without waiting time

28. Sometimes they are displayed and sometimes I have to click the link. The poll doesn't allow for that
