That is good news for the Democrats and bad news for the Republicans. The writing is on the wall for the Republicans. This is a moment when a political party should understand they have gone too far and they should moderate.
The problem is the Republicans cannot moderate because they have to many out of control extremists within the party. That is a major problem for them.

Dems need to hammer the shitty votes that Republican lawmakers have voted on. Not only laws that passed, but shitty laws that they voted for but failed to pass.
MAKE THEM RUN ON THEIR PRIOR VOTES.

(32,714 posts)Michigan voters will decide this fall whether the state will preserve the right to legal abortions after a coalition of reproductive rights groups collected more than enough signatures to put the question on the November ballot.
The proposal would keep abortion legal in one of the nations key swing states, and preserve the right to, carry out decisions without political interference about all matters relating to pregnancy, including birth control, abortion, prenatal care, and childbirth. The coalition needed 425,000 signatures to get the measure on the fall ballot and acquired 754,000.
Good timing Ganders.

(19,108 posts)This will be a blue tidal wave, people are absolutely pissed off right now and this will drive a record mid term turnout for Dems.
Whitmer was going to win regardless, but she's not really in danger at all now. And up and down the ticket is going to be a blood bath for the GOP.
And we redistricted by a bi-partisan committee, the seats are more fair now, so the Dems will take the State Senate, and maybe even threaten to take the State House. Dems already control the AG, Governor, and Secretary of State here, all will win re-election easily.

(32,726 posts)More specifically, Kansas WOMEN rock!
I'm certain that this latest "No" vote came from mostly women (and liberal men) who stood in line at the polls to slap these Christo-fascists directly in their faces. In Pennsylvania we use an inelegant term, we call it "flipping the bird." (It means giving someone the finger, and you know which finger I mean.)
The liberals of Kansas have flipped the bird at the Christo-fascists who are trying to ruin our country.
Well done, Kansas Democrats. And thank you.
