Haiti suffering from Sandy too, lest we forget

Some victims were washed away when rivers burst their banks. Others died in accidents caused by the storm. One family of five – a mother and her four children – were crushed when the roof of their home collapsed in Grand-Goâve.

But the greatest loss of life may still be to come as the country struggles to cope with the accumulated impacts of earthquakes and hurricanes which have devastated housing and crops.

A poster here said it; it isn't the storm - it's the aftermath. Haiti is so fragile still.

After that earthquake, it's practically unfair of Mother Nature to visit more hurricanes.

It went over Cuba too, didn't it? Sandy.

Half of the homes had their roofs blown off, 16000 homes destroyed, including landmark buildings and churches. Cuba is very good with disaster management so only 11 died, usually they have no casualties. The tourism installations were wrecked too so income is impacted. Santiago is very poor compared to Havana.
