Stupid question: how did they break into his safe?

I mean, i’m assuming that it was a very well guarded safe because Trump keeps many many secrets, so I’ve been wondering whether they had to blow the lock or if they have people with special skills that know how to get in to safes?

For some reason I can’t imagine that this was a simple thing.

Or they had a locksmith. It's not like he was going to pay $2M for a safe that could'nt be opened without destroying the contents.

The only source I know of for that claim is TFG's statement, and we all know how credible that source is.

safes are only effective at guarding stuff because they slow down access, or make the access attempt loud or inconvenient or difficult to conceal. They are not really absolute barriers. If you don't have to worry about concealing your attempts at access -- you've got plenty of time, you can make noise and mess, you can damage the safe -- then angle grinders or other brute force tools will get you in eventually.

The Army, FBI and CIA all have people certified to drill into a safe. I'm not one of them, but the basic process is you drill a hole in the locking mechanism in a particular location and the safe opens right up.

Makes it wicked easy if no one supplied the combination or opens it. It is highly unlikely that the sleazy lying steaming pile hump is the only person to have the combination Any locksmith worth their salt can use the type of safe information to know where to drill, set pins and trip the deadbolt/s
