If he knew this day would come, the sight of Trump's man being in charge of the raid makes for good optics.

(19,204 posts)But we'll give the staffer style points anyway.
I just hope this amounts to something. We don't want to give "the mouth that roared" more ammunition to screech at his flying monkeys.

(15,286 posts)to execute the search warrant. Trump was in NYC with his lawyers prepping for his deposition to NY AG James' investigation.
Ironically, the search took place on the exact same day Nixon resigned the presidency in 1974.

(6,811 posts)Maybe he offered to sell a document that was not among the ones he turned back to the national archives? Maybe it's Page four of a five page document. And pages 1,2,3,5 DID come back to the archives?
I can see a judge saying sure go in and look for page 4.

(5,844 posts)... being interviewed saying that it is based on fresh evidence of an ongoing crime. These are people who work/have worked in the federal justice system and know how hard it is to get this kind of search warrant, how unprecedented, how much evidence is needed to support it, and how important it must be in order to have all these people in the top echelon sign off and authorize this.
I don't want to lose sight of how rare this is. In fact, it's never happened in our history.
