Occasionally, some have advocated what they call "smash-mouth politics " and others have opposed

that, objecting to "lowering ourselves to their level". That argument is now over.

The FBI search of Trump's Mar-A-Lago has brought immediate threats by Republican leaders and a caravan of Trump flag draped vehicles outside the searched residence filled with MAGAvolk spewing obscenities and threats to the police. Trump's call for "his people" to "defend" him, with violence if necessary, has clearly been heard.

We have, like it or not, entered an era of smash-mouth eye-gouging ear-biting crotch-kicking politics.

Suit up.
