That's what's being reported this morning.
So they collected evidence. Of what? What did they find in the safe?
Inquiring minds want to know.

(5,843 posts)... they think it's far more than "just" classified documents. To get a search warrant of an ex-president, this has to go through the highest levels of law enforcement, and Garland (or one of his top deputies) has to sign off on it. They have to suspect there is urgent and immediate evidence of an ONGOING CRIME, they're saying.
I am listening to the news coverage this morning and not putting much stock in what journos have to say, but legal experts. And it's eye-opening information. The journos are all about speculating and it's easy to identify their biases. The legal experts are acting like they are awed, because this is a major, major thing. Unprecedented.
Oh, and Biden had nothing to do with this, so don't let anybody tell you he had to sign off on this. He didn't. This is all the DOJ and FBI. And it's a big fucking deal.

(50,955 posts)15 boxes of documents in February, many of which have been identified as classified. If they were going after that, they would already have had the evidence to charge him for it since February.
