Kash Patel has already announced that he's a witness to Donald Trump's suspected theft of documents

I'm really grateful that Kash Patel has already announced that he's a witness to Donald Trump's suspected theft of documents that belonged to the American taxpayer.

Way to make things easy for The Deep State™, Kash!

So if there are 300 stolen documents, tfg can do 900 years in prison?

That! would be justice.

Is this another one of the instances where he thinks he can do whatever he wants? It certainly appears that way.

12. The president has the absolute authority to declassify documents

You think there is someone else in charge of the executive branch that can say "No, you can't do that?"

The point of the OP is that the process wasn't followed, but the president can declassify any damn thing he or she wants.

Do you recall JFK getting arrested for allowing disclosure of the Cuban missile site photos, or Jimmy Carter getting arrested for disclosing the existence of stealth aircraft?

Being able to declassify information is inherent among the things the president can do.

If the documents are marked as classified, they're still classified, no matter what magic wand Trump thinks he wove.

by the way, Kash, what security clearance did you have at the time? Were you cleared to view information at the highest level of classification?

Declassified documents still belong to the government. He doesn’t get to walk out with US Government property, and take said property to his house.

Worth pointing out, though, that this particular spin can work on the anti-government populist and/or conspiracist left as well.
