(14,764 posts)My limited understanding is the fbi can't release a warrant because it has "privacy" implications to the target.
They can release it as evidence in court, but I don't think they can just release it for pr reasons.
Though that may just be a rule.
Trump is free to release it however.

(6,890 posts)I might also point out that Steve Schmidt - of the Lincoln Project - you know, he who has been pushing us to be bolder about using Republican tactics - says about this warrant:
"It is essential that Donald Trumps fiercest detractors be his fiercest defenders when it comes to the defense of his rights."
I think that is good advice

(593 posts)Let them vent and yell about civil war. I tell them, you and what army?. They are outnumbered by the police and the national guard, and if necessary, the military.
I know what some people will say. Well then the rogue generals can face a firing squad. They better think long and hard.

(12,431 posts)I remember reading somewhere that some of the info in the documents may be so sensitive that even descriptions of some of the documents would be classified.

(10,013 posts)And how much money did the Chief Grifter get for it? There are only two reasons I can think of for Trump to steal classified and other documents when he left office: to hide or destroy evidence or to make money from classified documents by selling them to foreign governments that are not friendly toward the US.
I hope he gets nailed n this one, along with J6 and the Georgia case.
Bingo.

(6,890 posts)then Trump** would not be free to releas it.
Which doesn't mean that might not be looking for something that sensitive - just that you wouldn't be able to tell from the warrant.

(7,814 posts)state what they find objectionable in the search warrant and/or subpoena. Of course, they haven't seen the search warrant...so the point is they are whining without knowing the facts.
wiggs
(7,814 posts)seem to believe that if there's collateral political gain to the dems, a search warrant should NOT be issued regardless of justification. Political gain should not factor in either way but gop leaders think it should.
(BTW I'm sure a significant number of GOPrs believe all is fair when you're in power and that political reasons are all you need to cheat, lie, steal, issue search warrants, not issue search warrants, conduct investigations, and hoard classified documents)

(6,254 posts)when TFG was elected this is literally like making a Al Capone president. The entire Trump world are nothing but criminals. Its like letting a drug addict have access to a warehouse full of drugs. A man so utterly devoid of patriotism or pride of country, who saw the presidency as a license to commit crimes, make money, and gather intelligence for his own future use. Even as President how many times have we heard TFG express his love of country, almost never. Trump and Trumpism must be permanently stomped out of existence.

(15,286 posts)an inventory of what was taken. That was pointed out by Weissman and others last night on MSNBC. Trump could also release that list.
Betting their are already FOIAs out by news organizations to get a copy of the search warrant, too.
