Remember Sandy Berger?

He did the crime and paid the fine(s).

Trump is not above the law.

Sandy Berger-2003

Fifty-eight year old Sandy Berger, the former National Security Adviser under the Clinton Administration, illegally took classified documents from the National Archives on more than one occasion. During his visits to the Archives, it was determined that Berger folded the documents in his clothes, walked out of the National Archives building in Washington, D.C., and placed them under a nearby construction trailer for retrieval later on. Two years later Berger was sentenced to 100 hours of community service and probation and fined $50,000. He also also had to pay $6,905 for the administrative costs of his two-year probation. Berger also lost his security clearance and license to practice law.

Caught Rush talking about it and he half joked that Berger had stuffed documents into his socks.

By the time I turned on the TV that night at home Fox mentioned something about socks on every show I saw. It’s legend and lore in RW world now.

Anyway. Here’s this

Berger is apparently quite the slob and he keeps papers piled up in his office.

He shouldn’t have done it and he paid a price for it.

documents were missing. They later said they didn't know if any original documents were missing. I don't believe he was there to destroy evidence. There are 2 reasons he could have wanted those. He wanted to brush up on the facts before testifying before 9/11 committee (doubtful) or he was afraid Bush operatives would destroy documents that would prove that Clinton, Berger and Richard Clarke were aware of the threats from al-quaida and had warned the incoming administration and John Ashcroft about what intel depts of 4 different countries later told them in the summer of 2001 (my opinion). The Bush defense was "How could anyone have known" and if there was no evidence they had been warned, they could blame it all on Clinton which is what they were trying to do.
