1) Something positive happens.
2) Lots of celebration on DU.
3) The next day a bunch of negative posts show up about how it's all meaningless and nothing will happen. Sometimes even quoting right-wing sources.
They were short-circuited yesterday by more good news. But the pattern is back today....

(3,023 posts)Dems and Repugs are definitely evolving down very different paths.

(11,030 posts)Some just expect failure despite all evidence to the contrary (the ones posting Sinema was going to sink IRA just as it was passing)
But I do think there are also trolls trying to deflate the crowd as well. I saw one get banned yesterday, then come back 6 hours later posting the exact same thing they got banned for ( and get banned again).

(30 posts)I agree with everything you said. I don't come to DU for a jamboree, but some kind, intelligent, progressive people still find it necessary to find "yeah, but..." in everything good and inspiring. I'm here with the fighters, not the whiners. Cheers!

(7,634 posts)Now, we are supposed to be people who follow politics more closely than the average citizen.
Yet we often have tons of posts with factually wrong information or misguided criticism because of a lack of taking the time to stop and read what's in a bill ( or read a summary of it from a reputable source) before going off with negative stuff. The other kind is people proposing solutions that can't be implemented because of the way congress and the executive branch work and getting upset about it.

I'm still floored that there were "Sinema will stop the bill" posts going up at exactly the same time as "Harris breaks tie!" posts.
