Rep. Gym Jordan's Judiciary Tweet Mocked For Struggling With Basic Legal Concepts

A Twitter account overseen by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) is receiving new attention for struggling with basic legal concepts after it railed against the search warrant executed on the Florida home of former President Donald Trump.

The House Judiciary GOP Twitter feed, which lists Jordan as ranking member in its bio, tweeted on Monday:

The “it” refers to the FBI executing a search warrant at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, a legal process that would involve investigators convincing a federal judge or magistrate that evidence of a crime would likely be found during a search.

Critics went to town on the GOP tweet given that Jordan and all other members of the committee should know that the process is the same for former presidents and everyone else:

Remember folks. These guys are not Tweeting at us. They are signaling to their braindead followers, who see it and say, "Yeah, if they can search the president's house, they can do anything!" because they live in a world devoid of logic. Law Enforcement, with probable cause and DUE PROCESS, absolutely should be able to search the former or even sitting President's home, and we should want that check on power.

They (Conservatives) ALWAYS project their own desires and intentions into the situation. THEY would absolutely abuse that power and investigate people for purely political reasons. They did it with both Clintons, they did it with Don Siegelman, the former Alabama Governor, and they are already signaling that they will do it with President Biden if they win in 2022. So, yeah, they think Democrats would go after Trump for merely political reasons because THEY WOULD.
