The reporters are talking to him about federal assistance, not search warrants.
I do notice that Rand Paul has not brought his curly head anywhere the problem area, even though he's running for reelection this year. His Democratic opponent, Charles Booker, brought water and supplies to the area more than a week ago. Paul made fun of him.

Of course the democratic gov and president already have been. So has the democratic candidate for senate.
I guess he wants to do anything but talk about search warrants.
