I read that somewhere, and if true, that just strikes me as really odd--probably because I had recently watched "The Staircase" on HBO.
Is cremation a typical procedure for someone being buried? I mean, someone who isn't on a tight budget.
I don't know, everything about her death seems off to me.

(86,743 posts)My most recently passed relatives, in the past ten years, have all been cremated then buried. My mom was buried in a national cemetery last year and she would not have been if not cremated as space was a thing.
So to the question you're approaching, why was she buried if cremated? What makes me wonder is why the grave mound is so big, like a full sized casket when two square feet, three feet down is all that's needed.
And on display near the first hole when anyone else might have been a little more discrete with such a personal matter, then, we are talking about tfg. I think there may be something hidden there that is not any human remains (wait, has anyone gone missing lately?) rather, something he thinks he can get away with once people forget about it. Something that is really bad for him to have in his possession.
Whatever is in there, I don't think it's Ivana's remains but something else that we should probably know about. He's flaunting it, that means there's something amiss.

*** But my very Catholic sister is requesting my ashes to bury. Cremation used to be a no-no with the church, then achieved approval with the stipulation that the remains be buried.
