An overlooked point re: TFG and classified documents

Asha Rangappa (@AshaRangappa_): Can we say this louder for the folks in the back? TRUMP DOES NOT HOLD A SECURITY CLEARANCE

Peter Strzok (@petestrzok)

That goes away the moment their successor is sworn in. By tradition, incumbent Presidents extend access to classified info, as needed, to their successors. Notably, Biden did not, citing Trump’s “erratic behavior.”

10. Except Trump isn't Biden's successor. Trump is Biden's predecessor.

And Trumpers are urging him to claim he declassified everything before he took it.

Joe Biden taking away his courtesy access to his stuff. He thought he could explain it away as his right. Then when they came for the first batch of records and he held a lot back, I don't think he thought this was going to happen. When he was president, he pushed and pushed until they gave in to him. He really thought of this stuff as "his" and not belong to the country. But basically he has been committing the crime that he made a felony during his presidency ever since he took that stuff with him.

He signed that law to punish others, especially Hillary Clinton. He never ever thought it would be applied to him.
