(28,811 posts)Garland has so much class I know we'll never see him crowing, but I hope when he gets home he and his wife have a good long laugh. Trump is such an ass and so thoroughly criminal. Merrick Garland just showed him his ass.

(6,253 posts)For denying Merrick Garland a seat on the Supreme Court, so that he can deftly and legally dismantle TFG and his political machine!
Seriously! Mitch McConnell for the DOJ, and McCarthy for the Jan 6 Committee.
It's gotta be their karma -- where asshole leaders are so dumb and conflict driven, they help the good guys in the end.

i've been praying the same mistake wont be made. if there's a special prosecutor, i'm hoping for andrew weisemann, or the guy who quit sdny. or maybe pak from atlanta.
folks who've already seen the criming up close and are already over the shock.
It was an excellent move: (1) because it shows "The People" that "something" is being done and (2) "The People's" AG is not playing around with "Words", "threats", etc.!
No Tolerance!

(16,223 posts)I hoped he was working behind the scenes, but it didn't look like anything was happening.
It WAS. He was ON IT.
I am sorry for my doubt and words of complaint.

(2,039 posts)So many of us (myself included, I'm afraid) were afraid that due to your quiet persona you would not be up to the task of taking down the Bloated One.
Thank you for proving that we "innies" should not be underestimated in our ability to take on the bullies of the world.

I understand being afraid to get one's hopes up (been there, done that, got the fugly tshirt). But to assume that Garland was doing nothing just because we couldn't see what he was doing never made any sense to me. I never felt sure about how things were going to turn out, but giving up would have felt like walking out in the middle of a movie. I didn't know how it was going to end; I just wanted to wait and see.
And it still isn't over yet. To paraphrase the great Winston Churchill, this isn't the end. It's not even the beginning of the end, but it is the end of the beginning. I will be sitting here till the closing credits roll, waiting to see how the whole thing plays out.

(6,265 posts)I admit I was on a couple of occasions losing it, yet AG Garland is playing an excellent game of chess with orange little hands. He did it just right.
