The traitors defense (from breitbart)

All of this is technically irrelevant anyway because Trump–who as president has original and absolute declassification authority–said he declassified all of these documents. “Number one, it was all declassified,” Trump said on Truth Social moments ago. “Number two, they didn’t need to ‘seize’ anything. They could have had it anytime they wanted without playing politics and breaking into Mar-a-Lago. It was in secured storage, with an additional lock put on as per their request.”

So there it is. as of 2:43 pm ET

He can't declassify stuff like he thinks, and he did NOT hand over everything the first time or they wouldn't have come back.

that there were documents beyond what Trump showed them during their visit 6 months ago and that they were not properly secured. I am sure they would seek verification from other sources before going through the whole warrant, search and seizure process. It's not a good luck for them if they turned up empty handed, especially less than 3 months before the midterms.

Furthermore, Trump, even as acting POTUS, does not have the authority to declassify documents that relate to national security. That would be up to the NSA.

I trust Merrick Garland on this.

The documents do not belong to Trump, they have never belonged to Trump, he stole them and then refused to hand them over when they were "requested" in June. These are not documents that Trump ever had any rightful claim to. Of course he is going with a "witch-hunt" defense, it is all that he has.

The big question any more is not "Did Trump break the law while President, but is there any law he did not break while President?"

It is time for an arrest. Let him take a bullshit defense to a court of law, instead of the court of the deplorables.
