(6,017 posts)"Trump apparently leaked the warrant to Breitbart. The DOJ had sought to redact or shield the names of agents involved. Trump took no caution. The Breitbart article has names of agents, which obviously puts a target on their back."
You have to go to Brietbart and give them the clicks & cookies, but they posted the entire warrant without redacting names, etc.

Also, I think all bar associations now fingerprint as part of criminal background checks before membership, but I'm not sure how long they have done that (so older attorneys might be grandfathered).

(29 posts)All Federal employees submit to fingerprints as part of a background investigation. Personal with access to TS/SCI undergo even more intensive checks. Not the normal SF-50 but an SF-52 exam. So he'll yes their fingerprints are in the non-criminal background section.

Most states, if not all, require fingerprinting and background checks for nurses, now, or at least registered nurses. Too many ID and license thefts and felonious impersonations.

(163 posts)A lot depends on having fingerprint samples on file for comparison. Anyone authorized to see classified should already have prints on file, it is part of the background check process.
Authorized people could raise questions if the security cams proved it happened post White House.
Unauthorized people on the docs would prove compromise of classified. In office or after.
Unauthorized plus authorized on the same doc, combined with Mar-A-Lardass security cam footage could prove an attempt to shop classified info. Example: Would anyone find it suspicious if Kushner's and MBS's prints were on nuclear secret documents? Especially in light of the 2 Billion $ payment Kushner got from the Saudi's for ???? Consulting??
That last one would be an EARTHQUAKE if proved. Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were executed in 1953 for selling secrets that included nuclear secrets to the USSR.

June... hmm, wasn't there an FBI visit and a subpoena that came out around that time?
https://www.politico.com/news/2022/06/24/trump-grants-records-access-to-conservative-favored-journalist-00042343
https://www.emptywheel.net/2022/08/12/john-solomon-and-kash-patel-may-be-implicated-in-the-trump-related-espionage-act-investigation/
That seeming coincidence that the FBI formally asked for surveillance videos showing who had accessed Trumps stash of stolen records on the same day that Kash and Solomon were officially added to the list of those who represented Trumps interests with the Archives may raise the stakes of Trumps legal exposure significantly.
Thats because if Trump deliberately allowed people not permitted access to classified documents or his negligence allowed people to remove such documents, it would trigger other parts of the Espionage Act than the one that prohibits someone from stealing classified documents and refusing to give them back (and all are covered by the warrant).

(7,434 posts)They can't leave him. He can't tell them to buzz off. He has to be accompanied by FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT at all times. So he can't get driven to an airport without the SS going right with him. And if he tries to ditch them, they have to immediately contact their superior officer, who would put a hold on any airplane scheduled for take-off.

Also, Trump can still go abroad with SS and not return. If he is in a country that does not have an extradition agreement with the US, there is nothing that the SS or anyone else can do about it.
I want to see Trump caught and tried. But you can be sure that he has some kind of plan set up for himself because he has no intention of ever being held accountable for anything. So, to make him accountable will require anticipating his likely moves and blocking them somehow.

(3,360 posts)My guess is the FBI realizes the eyes of America are being directed towards them and due to that, will play this one out as starched and pressed and aboveboard as possible. The chains of evidence will be meticulous, the data analyzed with as little human bias as possible, and every word, move and message they make will be double-checked by a field supervisor.

(4,397 posts)I fear the results of this search could be disappointing...
Between Trump and W., they hold the world record for ignoring matters of national security, much less READING them...
However, in this legal instance, I believe that "possession" of these documents is TEN-TENTHS of the law! Doesn't seem to matter worth a damn whether he actually read them, or not... The point is, that he TOOK THEM.
