If it were proved tomorrow that Trump had indeed sold our national secrets to the highest bidder...

...it wouldn't make the slightest bit of difference. Not to his subhuman "base". Not to the national GOP, who would all still defend him. Not to the conservative media--all they would do is start defending Trump's right to do so. ("He's the ex-President, and still the legitimate one. It's up to *him* to decide what's in our national interest. And what's wrong with selling secrets? Don't we believe in free enterprise?" ) Just a short month ago, this would have seemed too cynical, even for me. No longer. There is no bottom...

How would you ever prove to them that he sold out our country? FAUX Snooze would follow along. The rest of the media would loose their collective shit. They’d be wondering how long before people held them accountable for all the lies they allowed to let go unchallenged. Remembering all the times they did the bothersiderism dance and how hard it’s going to bite them in the ass.

It's how they deal with everything they don't like. Just shout, "FAKE NEWS!!!" and "DEEP STATE!!!" And they will go to their graves KNOWING that it wasn't true.

It's been proven every way it can be proven that Biden won the election and most of them won't believe that. There is no measure of proof that will convince them that their Dear Leader committed treason. There will never be sufficient evidence to change their minds. Don't believe me? Watch that Jordan Clepper video where he confronts Trump supporters with footage from the Jan. 6 hearings. He shows them VIDEO FOOTAGE and their responses range from, "That video is doctored," to "I don't think that's her (Ivanka). I think she's a clone. I heard they cloned her."

Compare their beliefs about Trump to the Fundie Christians' beliefs that the earth is 6000 years old and that evolution is false. The thought process, if you can call it that, is pretty much the same. They continue to believe these things in the face of overwhelming evidence that those beliefs are wrong. They are religious beliefs, and are therefore not rational, by definition.

... would simply declare that "Everything's just an opinion, anyway", after I'd checkmate them with facts and logic.

Supporting their group is all that really matters to them. Reason and truth are repeatedly sacrificed when it's inconvenient to them.

They'll gladly point to a New York Times article if it supports their side, after repeatedly declaring it an untrustworthy newspaper previously.

They're like defense lawyers, who will argue for their clients even if they know they're guilty.

revelations come out on the stolen documents. And remember, the J6 Committee will be back in September with more info on his crimes.

I posted yesterday that trump finally bites and his presidential hopes were over when the document revelations broke and got much pushback. I don't think I'll be getting push back anymore as this story keeps getting worst and worst.

You THINK his base is eroding. But until I see some real, solid evidence, I don't believe it for a second.

This is a cult. They will defend him to the death. Nothing he does is wrong to them because they worship him. No facts can change their minds, no amount of reality sinks in. These morons are willing to die, like the FBI shooter in Ohio.

And as long as there are Rand Pauls and fucking Marjorie Taylor Greens, they will stick by him. The only way to dilute his support among the deplorables is if the GQP shuts up about him and stops amplifying lies. And I don't see them doing that anytime soon.

This is what we're up against.
