Each school will get a gun safe. The school resource officer will bring the assault weapon to the school each morning. It will be locked in the safe all day. The resource office will then remove it from the safe and take it home at night.
Brilliant plan, you fuckwits.
I am put in mind of a gun routine by Aussie/American comedian Jim Jefferies riffing on needing a gun for protection but keeping it locked.
As the miscreant is breaking in, the gun owner fumbles with the safe combination, "Okay, buddy. You'll be sorry you broke into THIS house :fumble: :fumble: Hold on a sec. I got a gun in here."
Geezusfukkinkeristonacrutch but these people are fucking zonkers.

OK. Then this guy will be carrying the gun in the open every morning and afternoon (or evening). Daily transport is a vulnerable point for mistakes or robbery. I must point out that an old friend of mine was killed by a kid with a stolen cop's gun.

(50,273 posts)after being alerted while in the coffee break room, slowly makes his way to the room where the gun safe is located. He fumbles with his keys because he's scared shitless, finally manages to get the gun out, realizes it's not loaded and goes looking for ammo. Meanwhile, grades 1, 2 and 3 have already been taken out and the bad is heading for grade 4. In the confusion, no one has thought to call 911. The school resource officer (who used to be a security guard at one of the orange groves) finally gets himself together and his weapon loaded and heads toward danger. Then the bad guy shoots him. Now wouldn't it be better if we just controlled the guns and - most especially - took anything that belongs in a war off the streets?
