Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsHas anyone seen any mention of FBI search and/or confiscation of
any computers or peripherals at Mar-a-Lago?
There are probably multiple parties who would have a great interest in Secret/Classified US Government information, and it's easy enough to scan documents and store them on thumb drives.

(115,693 posts)If this search turns up probable cause to search the homes of, say, Mike Flynn or Kash Patel, there might be some interesting computers to look at there, though.

(17,426 posts)All that information that was confiscated in paper form?
I believe it's been at least partially distributed already, and tfg has already received compensation for it.
To go even further, I believe that he was holding onto the paper that was confiscated because what was already distributed electronically was then electronically destroyed on his end, but could be made again from the paper copies for future "customers" wanting the materials.

It was an extremely targeted search. They could have searched any room not occupied by a guest, but only went into 3 areas.
It was also reported they subpoenad the security footage of the building. But no mention that they may have other warrants like phone taps or text histories or signal (the app) intercepts.
I doubt they intended to do anything more than get documents back. If tfg hadn't blabbered, we probably wouldn't know anything happened. Ever.

(17,426 posts)Seems to me that if someone is going to hand off something to a foreign adversary, it would be done while slipping a thumb drive to them via a handshake, rather than by giving them reams of paper.
If done properly, a security camera would not even pick that up.
Could even be sent easily electronically.

(17,426 posts)It appears that you believe I'm bashing Garland, or the FBI, or both.
I have been a vocal Garland supporter since day one. Furthermore, I am of the belief that Trump will be prosecuted and imprisoned for his actions, and I have taken shit for stating that belief.
Have you ever considered that perhaps Garland rightfully did not attempt to get a Federal Magistrate to approve the search and confiscation of hard drives at Mar-a-Lago because he knew that may be a bridge too far for a judge to approve, since it would mean that he needed to present probable cause that those actions were indeed done (the digitization of the hard copies)?
Also, have you considered that if the search of hard drives were to be included in the search warrant request, that a judge may disapprove the entire request if a search of hard drives were to be included, since probable cause may not been have been established for that aspect?
The search for the documents is was what was requested, and that is what was approved by the judge.
But for some reason, you saw fit to post an OP after responding to me, a Garland supporter, which talks about anti-Garland talking points.
Maybe you should consider that sometimes, a question is just a question.
That's what most DUer's do...ask questions to stimulate discussion.
See, I could make an assumption about you based on your profile, but I won't, because that might make me look like an ass. So maybe do not make an assumption about my support for Garland, when my post history shows that I am a supporter.

(115,693 posts)about handing over information to the wrong people - at least, not until now. When he was in the WH he could see and talk to whoever he wanted, whenever he wanted, even privately. Its party time all the time now at his residences. His Saudi golf tournament would have been a perfect time to slip some goodies to Prince Bonesaw. TFG dont need no stinking flash drives.
