Is there some action the Republicans will commit that we will not stand for?

Is there any illegal action that will push us over the edge?

Can Donald Trump really shoot someone on 5th Ave. and get away with it?

Is the Republican Party really going to defend the miserable orange prick till the very end?

The Republcan Party obviously went off he rails years ago. And we Democrats did nothing.

The Republican Party has been taken over by the lunatic fringe. And we Democrats are doing ... not much.

The Republican Party is trying to destroy democracy, the Constitution, our freedoms. And all we do is bitch about it.

The Republican Party has declared political war on America. And they are hoping for an actual shooting war.

At this moment in time, we control the House, the Senate, and the Presidency. How do I put this? -- We are down to the final moments of saving what most of us consider to be America. There's an election in less than two months and it's America that's at stake. If we lose this election, America will be gone. Just by owning the House, the Republicans will be will positioned to take the Senate and the Presidency in 2024. Were that to happen, we will all be subjects of a totalitarian country. You'll never get to vote again.

Donald Trump has paved the road to cruelty, dictatorship and far worse. So what do we do? We stop them while we still hold the power of the federal government. Or we make sure our passports are up to date.

4. One thing they need to do, at least at the Congressional level, is start calling the republicans out

as unAmerican for those republicans wanting to get rid of the FBI, DOJ, supporting the LIE that trump won the 2020 election, trying to legitimize the insurrection, supporting people who are advocating that Governors and others have the right to overturn an election

To a large degree we have let the republicans frame the argument, and label us as anti-Americans

The time has come for us to call out the republicans that they are the real anti-Democracy party, who worship a con man, pathological liar, above the country and their party

It is very rare that I see anyone directly calling trump the liar that he is.

If I had an answer as to what we do while we still hold power, you would have heard it from me.

Had I put this post on a wingnut website, the replies would have been specific, loud and bloody. But, since I posted it here, all I get is "What do you suggest we do?"

IMO, we have to be the worst wusses in history. We're under attack by a ruthless enemy, and we're trying to stick to some rules that they're ignoring.

Were I really to cut loose and state what I think we should do, I'd be banned from DU.

But is everyone here really so dense that you're missing the fact that we are on the verge of Civil War 2.0. And while our domestic enemies are well prepared, we are debating the fine points of rules/democracy/legalities/honor. Through voter suppression, gerrymandering, and "lost votes," they're going to shred us this November. And there's no one to blame for this but ourselves.
