How that Mercedes held up. She was sitting on the sidewalk looking uninjured while the other cars were crumpled.

Looking at the pictures, she still stopped head on but the hood of her car didn’t collapse beyond the “firewall” —as my husband called it— and she had obviously plowed the other cars before her car stopped head on.

Now we’re trying to ascertain the make of that Mercedes. My husband said a CLS…? It looks like a coupe, but it’s not.* We’re not 100% sure. We look in all the articles we can to see if the model is mentioned but haven’t seen it yet.

The difference might be that she was not broadsided like the other cars, so that might have made a difference. But she’s the only one living and she appears unhurt. It’s rather remarkable.

*it does look like a coupe in the accident, but the CLS also comes in a 4-door. So we figured it’s a CLS, but not sure.

the last I heard on the reporting. That was from an unverified source. I think this video says there wasn’t evidence of alcohol, but I haven’t heard more about the boyfriend /breakup aspect that was first speculated.

It will be curious what her state of mind was as it comes out, especially considering her excessive accident history.
