Benedict Arnold tried to sell West Point to the British...

At the time, West Point was a key fort on the Hudson River. The British at the time were occupying New York City, and West Point blocked the Hudson river north to what we now know as Upstate New York. Arnold's treason was in arranging to surrender the fort and it's garrison to Gen'l Clinton, the British commander for money and a commission in the King's army. The plot was foiled, but Arnold escaped to the British and served them later in the war, commanding troops in Virginia and the Carolinas.

Is selling Nuclear secrets equivalent to that? You decide.

Much more than nuclear secrets.

All CIA agents, covert networks, etc.

US military weapon capability, locations, etc.

Dossiers on top level US government officials and other world leaders.

The list goes on an on.

When Germany invaded Norway in 1940, Quisling attempted a pro-German coup against the government. He headed a pro-German administration from 1942 to 1945. His betrayal of Norway to Germany has made his name into a label for all collaborators and traitors.

Replace Nazi Germany with Russia and there are many parallels.

Is the orange one capable of selling nuclear secrets to the highest bidder or biggest flatterer? You bet.

Would that be worse than Benedict Arnold's treason? Unquestionably.

Has that happened? Your conjecture is plausible, possible, even likely.

BUT.... It's just a conjecture. It's an unproven assumption, not a fact,

There is only one other comparable historical figure left — the original of the traitorous species: Judas.
