‘He Didn’t Like To Read’: Missouri Paper Highlights a ‘Particularly Curious’ Element of Trump’s Document Stash
Donald Trump
by Meaghan Ellis | August 15, 2022 - 7:11am
— from Alternet

snip//

Noting the former president’s proclivity towards boredom, general lack of interest in reading and abject love of TV, the editorial board writes:

“Against that backdrop, the existence of perhaps 25 boxes full of government documents, reportedly including top secret material, in a Mar-a-Lago basement seems particularly curious. Why would Trump want them at his private residence when he didn’t like to read and had no legal right to possess them?”

Referencing Trump’s relentless 2016 campaign against Hillary Clinton over her private email sever, the editorial board insists, “Trump certainly had to grasp how serious it is to unlawfully retain classified documents”

“And after the FBI collected 15 boxes full of documents at Mar-a-Lago earlier this year, Trump must have had a good reason to hide the existence of another 10 boxes,” the editorial continues. “It was only after an informant tipped off the FBI to the additional boxes that a federal judge authorized last week’s search.”

The editorial board goes on to slam Republicans who are “apoplectic” over the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago but mum on Trump’s decision to take documents that “were never his.”

“Regardless of the justification, the documents were never his, and Republicans who are apoplectic over the FBI search should first be asking why it was ever O.K. for him to break the law in the first place,”
the board writes.

The existence of the document stash implies a whole cascade of criminality. Someone had to go on a sales expedition to ask various folks with money to spend what US secrets they would like to buy while Team Trump had the access to get them. This probably involved talks with people like Putin, MBS, etc. about building their wish lists. Then someone had to go get them -- I'm very sure TFG himself didn't run out to the various places where this stuff is warehoused to collect it. Moving the stuff to Mag-A-Lardo to wait for actual sale day was only the last step of what was probably an elaborate and thoroughly traitorous process. The people who are not completely blinded by the Cult of TFG are seeing this and that it will make Nixon look like a fucking Boy Scout when all the details finally come out. This was conceived, planned, and implemented as a criminal enterprise to monetize TFG's access to US secrets. This is Bond villain shit. Incompetent Bond villain shit, but still.

I suspect the plan was hatched and launched in a fit of pique only after Trump lost the 2020 election. And for all we know there were other bridge-burning enterprises launched during his lame duck interval.

the last paragraph. I do not think it was a last minute fit of pique over losing the election. I think it was a planned, ongoing operation long before election day.

Think about the Russians who visited Trump in the Oval Office with no one present but a translator chosen by the Russians. Think about the Congressmen who visited Putin in Russia. Think about Jared's Middle East visits.

His entire 4 years in office were a monetized operation to milk as much money as possible out of being president.

He was facing huge, million dollar payments on properties. He needed something valuable enough to sell for big sums. US secrets would provide him with the money he needed.

.... to do late night reading "homework" was just a pretense and ruse. The goal was to photo them or fax them to a remote location - then catalog them - so they could shop the high secret info to their deep pocket clients willing/eager to get their hands of the top secret files.

From day one team trDUMP intended to monetize the very top secret info they could get their hands on knowing it was a lucrative proposition for self enrichment. Just imagine if they had two full terms - eight years - to rape the filing cabinets and data bases of top top secret information.
