My daughter spoke at an event w/ Speaker Pelosi today in SF today celebrating Social Security!
(I posted this in a response, and doublethink suggested I make it in an OP.)
My daughter (Sascha) volunteered at the Hillary Clinton campaign HQ in SF (doing data entry, since she has a speech disability and doesn't do phone calls), and she met Christine Pelosi, who immediately got her more involved with Dem politics. In fact, Speaker Pelosi appointed her as a delegate to the CA Dems, and now she's a vice-chair of the Legislative Committee and of the Disability Caucus.
The event today was celebrating the anniversary of Social Security, and Sascha talked about the positive impact of SSI in her own life (like when I was a poor, teen mother, struggling to feed and house us), with my husband--technically her step-dad, but he became "Dad" some time ago--interpreting.

And a 'third hug' for you, your daughter Sascha, you must be so proud. Okay continuing the hug for her dad ... Hillary, Nancy ... and just like everyone in that picture !!! All the best to you guys. Thank you and thank her too from us.
