W.Va. governor: Voters shouldn't decide abortion access issue

West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice has rejected a suggestion by Democratic lawmakers to let voters decide whether abortion should continue to be allowed in the state.

The Republican governor said the state's abortion law falls under the scrutiny of the Legislature and the attorney general.
----
The West Virginia Democrats’ call for a referendum came after residents in Kansas, another state with a GOP-controlled Legislature, rejected a ballot measure that would have allowed lawmakers to tighten restrictions or ban the procedure outright. Despite the big margin, Kansas plans to recount the vote by hand.

“This is a very important issue,” West Virginia Senate Minority Leader Stephen Baldwin said in an email Monday. “We need a resolution sooner rather than later. The legislature had a chance to act and failed. We should let the people decide. This is a constitutional question, and our constitution empowers the people to decide it on the ballot.”

A on-line poll showed 95% of W.Vir. respondents WANTED it to be a voting issue

I loathe these self-righteous fucks. We're standing on an ecological brink due to the policies of mostly rich white men & these assholes still think they are superior to everyone else & deserve to be in charge.

Maybe it's time to replace your governor and legislature since they're so out of touch with the will of the people.

They might decide they are better off without us! 😜

We need to end the era of professional politicians and promote term limited citizen legislators.

Translation: We don’t want a repeat of Kansas in our state.

Let’s subjugate our constituents without hearing or answering to them.

That’s become their playbook.

And the Legislature will claim they'll have all the facts from their medical expert's testimony to back up any law about abortion they have.
And of course, there will be "Surely" exemptions, so why should any honest, real citizens worry about the rights of those whores that use abortion as a birth control whenever they feel like it?

Because that's how the RW frame these thing. Good women and girls don't need to have access to any abortion procedure, because having babies is like having a piece of pie - especially when the pregnant lady is in a legal relationship with her man to take care of her.
