How does a country that spends billions running down alleged terrorists overseas allow a well known home grown criminal and terrorist to reek so much havoc in said country?

4. How does it affect the billionaires?

Terrorism overseas is bad for our billionaires. It disrupts supply chains, it puts overseas investments at risk, etc.

The government is happy to spend trillions of taxpayer money to protect the private wealth and income streams of a few billionaires.

In contrast, a school shooting barely affects billionaire wealth or business. Neither does random murders of minorities. Even a mass murder in a place of business doesn't really affect billionaires if it's a local nightclub or something similar. The richest person involved might not even be a millionaire.

They don't want chaos. They didn't become billionaires under a fascist dictator, or a president who rules by martial law. They became billionaires in the country just as it is. Corrupt, but not chaotic.

13. I'm not sure billionaires give credit to anyone but themselves for their success.

It requires a single-minded purpose driver personality with a laser-like focus to get that rich. I suspect that many are like Trump, pretty much unaware of their macro environment and may only know their own government transactionally.

they got rich because they are smarter and work harder than anyone else. I've known enough very rich people to see this. They give no credit to people that helped them, being in the right place at the right time, or just plain luck.

They just don't want to have to do it in a world that is exploding around them.
