And gets rid of Reliable Sources. I thought Stelter was great in his informed takes on the media and did a fantastic job in taking down repub BS. I'm sure that's why he's gone.

When CNN brought in Licht from the Colbert show I thought he would do a good job, based on his work there. Now it just looks like he is kowtowing the owner's marching orders and trying to be "fair and balanced" - meaning giving more air time to RW sources and viewpoints. After being embarrassed by Briana Keilar the other day they had that idiot Rep. Mike Turner on again with Tapper today. Seems like we're seeing more of asshats dump apologists like Alice Stewart and Scott Jennings too. Not a good sign for the future at CNN.

(9,959 posts)... one of the few shows worth watching at CNN, and one that often beats FOX in the ratings! Something is very wrong at CNN...

(21,360 posts)or else Keith Olbermann and Dylan Ratigan would still be working. I only click on CNN for brief moments, have any cable news anchors used the term, "The Big Lie" since they were ordered not to say it?

(9,959 posts)... they were ordered not to use the "Big Lie" term. I don't watch CNN enough to answer... "Big Lie" is used at NBC very often, though, especially since one of their hosts - Jonathan Lamere (sic?) wrote his "The Big Lie" book.

(94,598 posts)It was suggested that they not use it because it was a partisan term. Nobody has stopped on-air talent from doing so.

(9,959 posts)... I can see how the alternatives, Trump election lies etc, are better headlines. However they are not better catchphrases. Republicans have always been better at defining things with catchphrases. "Partial-Birth Abortion" is one of their greatest. Democrats have not been as good - but "The Big Lie" was outstanding. CNN seems to be going for the old "Fair and Balanced" catchphrase. FOX might have sold it to them...

(14,909 posts)Stelter is a great journalist. He keeps them honest.
When the presence of a person with integrity is a threat, CNN has a problem.

(205,507 posts)I actually turned off CNN back in 2005 when they cut away from John Kerry speaking live before the Senate to show taped footage of some right-winger, "for balance," they said. I know that some there are okay, Don Lemon, Anderson Cooper, Fredricka Whitfield - but I've never gone back. I've stuck with MSNBC.

I hope MSNBC hires him. I'd rather see him taking the spot Alex whatsername has, the one replacing Rachel Tues-Fri.

(111,103 posts)That's not good.
I do not see him in prime time on any other network, but I could see him replacing the last hour of Morning Joe in the am, since it is a repeat anyway.
In my opinion, that was not a good move by CNN.

(4,170 posts)read his books. But when he began making excuses for Cuomo and Toobin, I lost respect.
I think he was Zucker's errand boy.

Before someone blames the ratings , CNN ratings are dropping across the board since the new CEO came in.
