What is the point of releasing a redacted affidavit?????

I hope the judge reconsiders because it's a waste of time. No matter what the judge does Trump is going to play his propaganda game. Why play the game with him? The judge should just say this in an on going investigation and I will not release the affidavit, the end.

If the judge releases the affidavit most of it will be blacked out, what's the point?

The judge is covering his ass from a Magat onslaught. There is no legal, valid point as you say.

It's my hope that the affidavit will be released with everything Team Trump wants to know redacted, and everything most damning to Trump left in.

Trump is playing the crowd. He is playing to public opinion. The judge knows that.

Trump says, "Release everything!", but he doesn't mean it. He knows they cannot release everything so it is safe for him to say that.

Then, the judge says, "We can release some of the information". Trump understands that any information released will not make him look good.

So, he will accuse the DOJ and the judge of "covering up". But the last thing he wants is for the redacted information to be made public. He is in a checkmate position.

The DOJ has the advantage right now because Trump does not know what the judge will permit to be released.

12. You know that the people who asked the judge to release it are the media, not Trump, don't you?

Any redacted document will not disclose the people/source of the information in the affidavit. But if it describes the material in question and how it was going to be misused........

more people will have to abandon their belief in Trump Almighty, Savior of Humanity. However, he will be able to raise another $50 million to defend against Democrat lies.

it is not 100% certain that this judge will release anything, he may have just wanted an option.

Trump will always demand what he can't have.

If they released unredacted documents, he would claim it was all lies.
If they release redacted documents he will claim a coverup.
If they release nothing he will say they are keeping the truth from the people.

30% of Americans will believe anything he tells them. 15% will claim that they believe it, and the rest of us will know that it is just continuing bullshit.

The key thing to note is that the 30% will control the message.
