Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsOpinion: Trump took classified info docs home to cash in on them...period.
One way or another he expected to make money selling secrets. Thats what he does, besides stiffing employees out of their fairly earned wages. He has a history of this stuff
its not a secret that Trump is all about trump and cash. He has mountains of debt to refinance, guess how he planned to manage that.
This is just another of his unethical, immoral and anti American actions that further his criminal inclinations. Its likely he went into the presidency with the idea of monetizing it and using social chaos as camouflage for his nefarious actions.
The consistency of his indecencies, the crassness of his behaviors, and the lies he churned out as if that was what he wanted his legacy to be are so evident and publicly glaring that it astonishing. Anymore being a trumper no longer says anything about trump
.it says oceans about the trump humpers.

(47,124 posts)Or to brag about.
Or docs he thinks incriminate him. Or exonerate him.
The list of possible items is obvious given his toxic narcissism and ruthless sociopathy.
He would love anything of prurient, tabloid type interest. He would love to brag to people along the lines of: "I know who killed JFK." "I know what really happened at Roswell."
He would love any documentation of wrong doing by elected or other high level officials. For bragging rights as well as leverage.
He would want any high ticket document, something our enemies would pay top dollar for.
Also of interest would be items to be used for leverage. "Hey I have top secret info I will release if you indict me."
And he certainly would have spent time collecting these documents rather than doing his actual job while POTUS.

Then you have the reverse situation, absolutely top talent who cannot grab the gold.

(7,850 posts)his autocrat buddies, but I do see Trump dedicating a wing of his hotel to a private "presidential" library, stolen documents and artifacts on full display...and for a very hefty price of "admission" he would escort a select few ( visiting despots, foreign agents) through his masturbatory homage, allowing them the opportunity to peruse his cache at their leisure...

(2,249 posts)Must prove at some point that he was trading info for something of value. That is the ONLY end game that will put a wood stake in this vampire. Without that, the weasel will always claim "it was a mistake of others" or he was keeping items as momentos ("Perfectly legal folks. Perfectly legal."

First: He didn't do it!
Then: He did it but so what? Nothing is wrong with it!
Now: He did it but he's too stupid and dimwitted to have understood what it meant or planned anything nefarious...

Be it ego, money, attention...whatever. He is number one on his list and there are no other causes, entries or people on that list.

(3,957 posts)It was miraculous. It was almost no trick at all, he saw, to turn vice into virtue and slander into truth, impotence into abstinence, arrogance into humility, plunder into philanthropy, thievery into honor, blasphemy into wisdom, brutality into patriotism, and sadism into justice. Anybody could do it; it required no brains at all. It merely required no character.

(82,849 posts)Let the former guy protest that he did nothing of the sort, and complain about it. Then say it again: He stole classified documents to sell to the highest bidder. More denials (or, more likely, non-denial denials)? Say it again. It will stick in people's minds sooner or later, and then the former guy can spend all his time battling the shadows and the shades, the rumors and the whispers.
And that would be a downright shame.
