She was 91. That seems impossible.
Richard is gone but Hyacinth and Daisy are still with us, I think.
That was the best show.

(17,298 posts)I still sometimes say things to my husband (who is not named Richard) like Richard put on a tie if you are going out to check the mail or Mind the bicycle, Richard. Poor, poor Richard.
Rest In Peace, Elizabeth.

It was one of my husbands favorites along with Benny Hill. We really enjoyed the Brit humor. He would call Mrs. Boooookay on the days when he said I was acting uppity.

She was one of my favorite characters. Of course they all were!

(18,868 posts)Why are the British shows so much better than our comedy shows?

(31,235 posts)I've asked that same question, and still don't know the answer. For me, it's the same with murder mysteries. Nobody does murder mysteries like the Brits.

(28,079 posts)After she died when I was cleaning out her apartment I found a book that she must have bought as a newlywed (1946).
The title: "The Complete Book of Table Setting with Service, Etiquette, and Flower Arrangement". It included advice on "Candlelit dinners".
You don't know how much I wish I had found that book before she died, I would have had such fun teasing her about it. (And, she denied it, but there was a time she had Hyacinth pretensions.)
